Midnight Snow: Jewellery Inspired by Winter and Ice

The Inspiration Behind Midnight Snow

The Inspiration Behind Midnight Snow

Midnight Snow is inspired by winter landscapes and frozen water — black ice, sparkling snow, and the subtle textures that appear when light hits icy surfaces. Nicole van der Wolf draws on these contrasts to explore the mystique and exhilaration of winter, echoing the drama of the sea.

Capturing Winter’s Contrasts in Jewellery

Crisp Argentium silver hoops, gem-set necklaces, and one-of-a-kind statement pieces with onyx druse, cat’s-eye moonstone, and diamonds reflect stark contrasts and minimalist elegance. Designs reference ice crystals, frozen surfaces, and subtle color variations, creating sculptural jewellery that moves with the wearer.

Playful, Wearable, and Intimate Designs

Movement and tactile engagement are central to the collection. Hot-riveted gold wire, flexible chains, and playful design elements allow jewellery to interact with the body while maintaining timeless sophistication. Pieces are versatile for both everyday and formal wear.

Materials and Goldsmithing Techniques

Handmade in Dublin, Midnight Snow pieces use Argentium silver, 18k recycled gold, hand-carved onyx druse, and carefully selected gemstones. Techniques such as lost-wax casting, hot-riveting, and precise gemstone setting ensure craftsmanship is evident in every detail.

Experiencing Midnight Snow in Everyday Life

Whether attending a winter event, enjoying a night out, or seeking a statement piece for everyday wear, Midnight Snow jewellery balances drama with elegance. The collection’s sculptural forms and playful movement make each piece a tactile, wearable celebration of winter’s beauty.
