These deliciously minimalist drop earrings combine a glossy black onyx cube with a solid 9 karat yellow gold twisted ear hook. The 6mm square cubes of natural onyx gently dangle on their 9 karat yellow gold ear hooks with twisted detailing. Carefree pieces to wear year-round.

Each cube is hand-selected for colour and quality in our Dublin studio and paired with our handmade twisted ear wires in solid 9-karat yellow gold.
Gemmology: Most of the black onyx sold today has been enhanced with a recipe that is more than 2000 years old. Roman historian Pliny described a traditional technique for darkening onyx that is still in use today: the onyx is soaked in sugar water, then placed in strong acid. After boiling for two hours, the acid eats away the sugar and water, leaving pure black carbon!

All my jewellery is handmade by me in my Dublin studio using traditional goldsmithing techniques. I use fair trade gold where possible and love to recycle old jewellery into a new piece to be cherished and worn. As gemmologist, I carefully select gems to delight the wearer.
